March 30th, 2010 by Holiday Lover in New York Breaks

Many people get tired of the everyday routine and want to take a break. Often its good to get away and go somewhere completely new that gets you away from home, the phone and other distractions. New York is the perfect place to go on a weekend break and relax.

New York weekend breaks are not only affordable with cheap flights and reasonable places to stay if you shop around, they are exciting also. New York has so much to offer in terms of entertainment, sight seeing and shopping. Whatever you enjoy doing you will most likely find it in New York.  A New York break will be truly memorable and you will doubtless want to take home some souvenirs as well as many photos.

Plenty to do and see on a New York Weekend Break

If you enjoy relaxing then book into one of the many spas during your weekend break and get yourself a soothing massage or one of the many other treatments on offer. You will then be sure to be fully relaxed to enjoy your break or, if preferred, have one at the end of your break ready for a relaxing travel home.

If you enjoy plays and musicals then head to Broadway where you will find some of the best musicals ever produced. New York is famous for its entertainment and Broadway famous worldwide for its plays and shows.

New York City has plenty to offer for sports lovers also. Madison Square Garden is home of the New York Knicks, New York’s Baseball team. You can go here to watch them play against some of America’s other famous teams.

If you love tennis then you can head to Flushing Meadows. Some of the biggest names in tennis have played here and if you happen to be taking your New York weekend break in late August or early September then Flushing Meadows is home to the US Open Grand Slam tournament.

For sightseers, New York has some of the USA’s mostly recognisable sights. The Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty and Times Square are all famous places that you will likely want to visit.

No matter what you want to do or see, you will find plenty to keep you occupied on your New York Weekend break and most likely need to plan a second visit to see more. Make sure you remember to pack your camera so that you have plenty of memories to take home with you.
