Some of the most famous tennis plays have played there and you may even get to watch a game or two if you visit New York at the right times. If you are a big tennis fan then going when the US Open is on, between August and September, will be something you won’t want to miss.
For big city views, a trip to the top of the Empire State building will be something you might want to do on your New York City break. There are two observatories which give breathtaking views over Manhattan. You will need a ticket to go into the Empire State Building though so make sure you have some dollars to hand.
The ‘Top of the Rock’ observatory from the top of one of the Rockafella Center buildings also can provide some great views. So if looking out over the city interests you then this will be another stop on your break.
For musical lovers, pop along to Broadway, home of some of the worlds top musicals. There’s plenty to entertain you with a range of different shows so you are sure to find at least one to interest you during your cheap city break in New York.
No break to New York would be complete without visiting America’s most famous lady – the Statue of Liberty. You can get a ferry to Liberty Island if you want to go right up close to her or the free to ride Staten Island ferry also goes close by for some good photo opportunities aswell as providing some great views of Manhattans skyline. If you’re a nature lover you may also wish to visit the botanical garden while in Staten Island.
