New York Breaks: Fun things to do in New York
If you have your mind set on going on a New York City break, you will doubtless be looking for what New York has to offer; the best things to do and see while you are there. You will of course be shelling out your hard earned cash to get there so you want to make the most of it right? OK so lets look at some of the attractions of New York and the fun things you can do when you get there.

Shop at Macy's, the Worlds Largest Department Store on your New York Break
New York City has an abundance of night life. There are plenty of night clubs and bars to cater for everyone’s interest. It’s not called the ‘Big Apple’ for nothing. Its the city that never sleeps and you could easily find yourself dancing the night away until the small hours.
For sports enthusiasts, New York has plenty to cater for you. Tennis lovers can head to Flushing Meadows where the US Grand Slam tennis tournament is held if you go at the right time of year. For basketball fans you can check out Madison Square Garden, the home of the New York Knicks.
Art lovers can head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Msueum. Both museums are worth a visit during your New York break.
Broadway is the place to stop if you are a lover of musicals and the performing arts. New York is home to some of the worlds best productions on the stage. Whether its musicals or ballet, you can find what you are looking for in New York.
New York City has more than its fair share of famous landmarks. You can find the Empire State Building and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. You can also visit the World Trade Center memorial site to pay your respects. The Vanderbilt Mansion is also a good visit where you can tour the inside of this historic building as well as wandering its beautiful grounds.
Naturally, you can’t go on a New York break without paying a visit to the famous lady herself, the Statue of Liberty. She resides on Liberty Island just a short ferry trip from the City itself. Nature enthusiasts would also enjoy a trip to the Botanical Gardens and Zoo on Staten Island.
New York is of course a mecca for shoppers. Don’t forget to take time to go souvenir shopping or even just stroll down the shopping streets to see the Designers stores that attract the rich and famous, or even splash out on some designer wear and accessories yourself if you have the money to spend. Macy’s, Bloomingdales and FAO Schwartz are other ‘must visit’ stores if you have the time during your New York break.
New York has many more fun filled things to do and see and above are just some of those that you can experience. On your visit to New York, you will surely find plenty to keep you busy and you will certainly not be likely to get bored.

That’s reallya great museum. When I was there back in 2000 I learned alot. Such amazingexhibits.
